Ah\u2026 the islands. Don\u2019t you just love them? I\u2019m always eagerly anticipating my next trip to an island and I still have many beaches left to explore. One thing I always contend with is – how do you dress for a beach holiday? Do we go complete slack and casual, or could we also do that with some style? There\u2019s a way to be casual and chic without looking like we\u2019re slacking in the wardrobe department.<\/p>\n

What are some fail-proof clothing you can pack and look good no matter what? These are a few we think are must-haves!<\/strong><\/div>\n

1. Denim shorts in basic colours<\/h3>\n

You could pack shorts in blue, black, white, pink, and blue and pair it with a t-shirt or your swimwear as you explore the island. You don\u2019t want to wear anything too long and hot since you\u2019ll be really hot and bothered, and denim shorts give your outfit a bit of structure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2. Must-have sunnies<\/h3>\n

You can be a little creative with the sunnies you bring to your beach getaway. It doesn\u2019t have to be the oversized ones you wear during your day-to-day in the city – what about switching it up to tortoise shell square-frames, or a bright colour. Be funky! It\u2019s a holiday after all.<\/p>\n

3. Swimwear<\/h3>\n

This goes without saying. I usually bring 2 pairs so I can switch them up – and depending on how adventurous you want to be with your swim wear is completely up to you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

4. A beach dress<\/h3>\n

You should always bring at least one dress with you – just in case you need to wear something nicer for a dinner or even just for drinks at the island bar when you\u2019ve got yourself a nice tan and want to look a little pretty.<\/p>\n

5. Sandals<\/h3>\n

You\u2019ll obviously have your flip-flops to wear as you go into sandy and wet conditions. But bring a pair of leather sandals that you can wear on evenings out or as you leave to take your flight\/transport back home.<\/p>\n

6. Floral prints<\/h3>\n

Whether it\u2019s shorts, dresses, or tops – a floral print is always a great style to have while you\u2019re sipping on that coconut and enjoying the beach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

7. A woven bag<\/h3>\n

This is a great look for the island – you wouldn\u2019t want to bring your nice leather branded bags and risk getting it spoilt with sand or sea water. Plus, you might look a little overly dressed for an island retreat. Give your bags a break and go for a more casual woven bag that will not only store all your goodies, but will survive the test of the sand and waves!<\/p>\n
