Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) <\/strong>makes a flashy return this year at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur after taking the grand spectacle online last year. From 1st November to 7th November 2021, KLFW will be showcasing 48 homegrown designers\u2019 ready-to-wear collections <\/strong>both digitally and in real life.<\/p>\n

Celebrating its joyous return with its series of fashion shows from the 3rd November to 7th November 2021, where 26 physical fashion shows<\/strong>\u00a0will be taking flight throughout the week.<\/p>\n

KLFW will also hold a series of 14 digital shows on HURR.TV<\/strong> on the 1st and 2nd of November 2021, featuring 12 of Malaysia\u2019s best fashion designers such as Andy Bandy, Celeste, and Cassey Gan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As we celebrate the exquisite ready-to-wear collections parading down the runway, KLFW will also be reviving the Thread of Heritage, A Truly Malaysian Textiles Exhibition<\/strong> from the 3rd to 7th November. Paying homage to Malaysia\u2019s lush versatile textiles, the exhibition aims to continue raising awareness of local fabrics while inculcating a deeper appreciation for its unique beauty and strong sense of history.<\/p>\n

As an extension of KLFW\u2019s initiative to foster a deeper appreciation for the local fabric industry, Taylor\u2019s University, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) and Barbie Mattel are collaborating on The Patung Project<\/strong>, a new initiative that will showcase Malaysia\u2019s rich culture and heritage in an effort to preserve the hallmark of the diverse arts and crafts across different ethnicities in Malaysia. The showcase will see students from Taylor\u2019s Fashion Design Technology programme presenting their artwork at KLFW\u2019s exhibition from 1st November to 7th November, which features 12 Barbie Dolls dressed in versatile garments based on four artisanal themes: Nyonya Beading, Tekat Embroidery, Calligraphy, and Henna.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, KLFW will be hosting the first-ever Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards 2021<\/strong>, a prestigious fashion award that celebrates both the industry and its designers. It will be Malaysia\u2019s first fashion-focused award, happening in November.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s KLFW sees the presence of three main sponsors that are the giants in their own respective fields: Japanese luxury automobile brand, Lexus<\/strong>; tech giant, Samsung<\/strong>; and one of the largest banking groups in Malaysia, Ambank<\/strong>, each bringing their knowledge and wisdom into the fashion world.<\/p>\n
