Nasi lemak (which literally means oily rice) has been recognized as one of the 10 most healthy international breakfast by Time Magazine. It was reported that the dish is “indeed healthy if eaten in appropriate servings.”

A pile of steamed coconut infused rice and a chunk of spicy hot sambal, healthy is probably the last thing we would associate with nasi lemak. Nonetheless, we still love eating it because who would say no to a plate of hearty santan rice with sweet aroma of sambal belachan and crispy ikan bilis?
