Sunway Square Mall officially opened on 12 December 2025, introducing a new community-focused retail destination in the heart of Sunway City Kuala Lumpur. Designed as part of the integrated Sunway Square development, the four-level, 320,000-square-foot mall brings together shopping, dining, learning and leisure in a pet-friendly environment created for everyday use.

At launch, 95% of the mall’s retail spaces were operational, offering visitors immediate access to a diverse mix of tenants. Daily essentials are well covered, with Village Grocer anchoring fresh produce and household needs, while the 24-hour Library by BookXcess with Kenny Hills Bakers provides a quiet space for study, casual meetings and round-the-clock access — particularly convenient for students from nearby Sunway University.
The mall also supports lifestyle and enrichment activities, with tenants such as Tutu Toe Dance Academy for children’s ballet training and BUMP Bouldering for recreational climbing. Retail offerings extend beyond essentials, with stores like KKV adding variety through curated lifestyle goods and novelty items.
Reflecting Sunway Square Mall’s community orientation is Squarrel, the mall’s mascot designed by Malaysian comic artist Ernest Ng. Art elements throughout the mall, including sculptural installations by resident artist Infantino Fernandes, complement the interiors and align with the creative character of the broader development, which will eventually include the Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre.

Visitors can also access Sunway South Quay Lake & Park directly from the mall, featuring landscaped walkways and a pet-friendly recreational area. Connectivity is further enhanced through pedestrian links, the Canopy Walk and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
