To welcome the Year of the Horse, Longines presents a poetic tribute that bridges Swiss watchmaking precision with the expressive power of Chinese art. Limited to just 2,026 pieces worldwide, the watch — Longines Master Collection Year of the Horse, is a commemorative timepiece that celebrates momentum, freedom, and renewal.
The watch features a striking gradient red sunray dial, symbolic of auspicious beginnings. Turn the watch over and its true artistry is revealed: an exquisitely engraved galloping horse on the gilt rotor, inspired by Galloping Horse, the iconic painting by revered Chinese artist Peon Xu. With every movement of the wrist, the horse appears to surge forward, animated by the rhythm of time itself.
Curated in collaboration with the Peon Art Museum and guided by the artist’s son, calligrapher Qingping Xu, the design is further enriched by the calligraphy “奔马得势” — a powerful expression of speed, strength, and success.
Housed in a 42mm stainless steel case and powered by the Longines L899.5 self-winding movement with a 72-hour power reserve, the watch also reflects the brand’s historic bond with the equestrian world. Elegant, meaningful, and enduring, this special edition captures the unstoppable spirit of the Year of the Horse — where art, heritage, and time move forward as one.
