Pop by Jaya One Evolves to Pop The Arcade Provides Online and Offline Shopping Services

Pop, a retail platform created to help entrepreneurs grow their business as well as showcasing their products, has officially launched its brand new shopping concept and multichannel offerings on 6 January 2021. True to its mission to continue championing homegrown entrepreneurs, creative spirits, and unique businesses that were created out of passion, Pop has now diversified its services to allow vendors to sell online as well as offline – compared to the previous offering of selling only in a physical space.

The retail store is reimagined as a shopping arcade concept, one of the first urban arcade retrofits in a shopping mall in Malaysia with plenty of unique, purposeful, and artisanal items. The whole concept forms a complex of individual shops representing each vendor with interconnected walkways, enabling visitors to walk from unit to unit like the ones in the UK, Europe, and Japan with an arched covered passageway.

Supporting a more convenient life of the modern world society, Pop also celebrates the addition of a new anchor tenant – Bear Malaysia, which focuses on small home and kitchen appliances such as the likes of electric stewpots, multifunctional health pots, humidifiers, electric lunch boxes, and baby bottle sterilizer. The uptrend in technology and innovations made sophisticated tools and home appliances become more and more significant for daily life use, saving twenty-first-century human beings the time and effort to complete home routines as quickly as possible.

Being a one-stop shopping haven for visitors from all walks of life, Pop The Arcade is a place where you can get whatever you’re looking for across multiple brands and sectors. The whole new concept store – sized 5800 sqft – is home to more than 40 vendors in the areas of fashion clothing, fine jewelry, beauty accessories, functional & lifestyle bags, hobby & pet items, independent food retailers, plants, yoga wear & gears, home appliances, beds and mattresses, personal care products, and unique gifts.

Overcoming the commoditization hindrance, Pop The Arcade puts focus on specific consumer segments by creating specific zones within the retail arcade to allow consumers to find an area that caters to them at ease – including fashion, food, home appliances, and lifestyle goods. Through two core strategies of dispersion and departmentalization, the brand new concept store creates a balance between comfort and safe shopping as visitors can minimize contact and abide by the principles of social distancing while browsing in spacious and easy-to-navigate zones.

The digitization of Pop also provides ample opportunity for its retail vendors to decrease customer pain points, while simultaneously creating entirely new delight points as shoppers can now shop online in the comfort of their homes. To celebrate its opening, shoppers can enjoy a RM5 off with minimum spending of RM30 on www.popshop.my while stocks last.

As an entertainment hub for the local community, Pop The Arcade serves as a new layer of leisure in The School shopping mall, so shoppers can come over and browse for unique, local, and handmade products in conjunction with the celebration of a new year.

For local brands looking to expand its business, Pop is open to discussion and collaboration with a broadened value proposition of online and offline selling. Interested SMEs can enquire away at popstars@jayaone.com.my to keep your businesses ahead of the curve.
