EDO by Jovian Mandagie for ZALORA: A Zen Raya

There’s no such thing as too early especially when it comes to Raya things. In this case, we’re super glad that Jovian Mandagie for #ZALORARAYA2018 collection, EDO, is now available on zalora.com.my a few months in advance for snagging. Be spoilt for choice as you can choose from 29 ravishing Japanese-inspired pieces to go all out for this year’s EID.

Never one to shy away from referencing the colours of other cultures in his designs, Jovian looked to Japan for inspiration. It’s a beautiful matrimony between Japanese motifs, the Hokusai wave, Seigaiha wave, Cranes, Asanoha (hemp leaves), Shippou (seven treasure), Kiku (chrysanthemum flower), and Sakura (cherry blossom); cut to kimono structures in the present day kurungs with ribbon wraps, flared sleeves, ladylike peplums and finishing touches like beaded sequins and adjustable Obi belts to wrap everything off.

For the price of RM551 to RM678, the fabrics do not disappoint. Heavy printed satin, gorgeous organza, lovely lace, crepe, mixed cotton and embellished brocade are set carefully to give off a luxurious feel. While some pieces exude softness, there’s somewhat a fierce force in the brights, allowing you to choose how you’d want to carry yourself for the forthcoming open houses.

EDO by Jovian Mandagie can be purchased online at zalora.com.my starting from now and will soon be launched at JStore Shah Alam, Bangsar, Bangi, Parkson Pavilion and Singapore by mid-March onwards. This year marks the fifth year of collaborative effort between Dato’ Jovian Mandagie and Asia’s online fashion destination ZALORA for ZALORA Raya collection.
