As a human being, most of us were granted by the God with a healthy body and nervous system that is dedicated to each sense. Humans have a multitude of senses which include sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Each sense was to interpret and have their own functions. While noses allow us to smell particles in the air and identify dangerous chemicals, do you know that breathing will be fat is true?

According to the researchers at UC Berkeley, it said that just smelling food can make you gain weight! Well, we know that it literally ruin our day, especially to fitness enthusiasts. Do you know that your brain can be influenced to either store or burn off fat entirely by your sense of smell?

According to the study published in Cell Metabolism, there are three groups of mice that were fed a ‘high-fat diet’, the normal mice nearly doubled in size on the diet, while mice with no sense of smell only put on 10 percent more weight. And for the third group of mice with temporary disable of a sense of smell, it doesn’t get fat too.

From the data showed, when we smelling food, our appetite, metabolic health can influence how your body burns calories. One of the researchers also told that the study could be applied to humans. While eating without tasting or smelling is joyless, we should also take a good care of our diet.

We should practice a healthy diet in order to be healthy. If you are trying to develop healthy eating habits, start with eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes while reducing the high calories, fat and cholesterol foods. On top of that, you need to limit the intake of processed food as it contains high sugar or salt that is harmful to our health.
