Satay

Satay is a marinated, skewered and grilled meat that is served with peanut sauce, cucumber, and onion. The most crucial part of this dish would be the seasoning and the peanut sauce that could level up the satay to an irresistible level. Do remember to try chicken, lamb and beef flavor.

 

 

Roti Jala

Roti Jala literally means ‘net bread’, which is a popular snack that is served with curry dishes. Usually, this traditional Malaysian dish is served at events such as weddings and festivals. If you haven’t tried before, just buy a set of Roti Jala and eat it with chicken curry.

 

 

 

 

Onde-onde

The onde-onde is a traditional kuih ( Malaysian cakes or pastries) in Malaysia. They are usually made from glutinous rice flour or sweet potato. The pandan leave juice that are infused in the kuih, filled with palm sugar an rolled with some fresh grated coconut. It will literally burst in your mouth when you take a bite, so remember to put it all in your mouth!

Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah

It is steam rice that is served with marinated chicken but trust us, the combination is just so tempting. Usually, people can get it in Pahang, Terengganu or Kelantan, but you can get it from Ramadan bazaars too! Remember to get the sauce from the sellers too.

 

 

 

 

Otak-otak

Otak-otak is a grilled fish cake that contains mostly ground fish meat mixed with tapioca starch and spices. It is traditionally served in banana leaf and eats is solely as a snack. Try to get it from the bigger bazaars, and some of the stalls will sell the prawn version too.
