Cruising has rapidly gained in popularity over the past decade. Just two months ago we talked about why you should consider cruise wedding, and Genting Hong Kong has decided to introduce its first ever Asia-based premium cruise line brand called Genting Dream.

Built in Germany, the Genting Dream is undergoing a fit-out in Paperburg and she will homeport in Guangzhou and Sanya in China, and Hong Kong, serving residents of the Pearl Delta and Hainan, and also guests flying into the airports of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Macau, Hong Kong and Sanya.

The Genting Dream will reach Singapore on November 4 this year with a 2-night High Seas Cruise, followed by a 6-night cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong.

In addition, the ship will offer year-round 2-night weekend cruises from Guangzhou each Friday, which will call at Hong Kong, and depart on 5-night cruises each Sunday, which will call at Halong Bay, Danang and Sanya.

Guests can choose from the 2, 5 or 7-night Vietnam destination experiences and have a choice of a 2-night weekend cruise to Hong Kong as well.

Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises, said, “In order to support our travel agent community, we have built up a sales and marketing team with over 100 staff in the region and plan to expand capability of call centres in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.”

In line with the luxury positioning of Dream Cruises, the Genting Dream will be priced 30-33% higher compared to Star Cruises.

The cruise liner’s 142-suite, VIP-only Dream Mansion, will offer private access to areas such as a private sundeck with pools, Jacuzzi, a private gym and a private dining room. The ship will also boast a purpose-built spa with a choice of over 100 types of reflexology treatments.

There will also be other onboard entertainment such as various poolside themed parties, six water slides, a 610m wraparound promenade, play rooms, a rope climbing course, a bowling alley, mahjong and card rooms, and duty-free shops. Moreover guests can visit a beauty salon, barbershop, a health club and Asian and Western Spas. Daily onboard enrichment activities will include wine tasting, onboard presentations from renowned speakers and more.
