On the third day of Starhill Gallery Fashion Week S/S 2017 was the Malaysian Designers Fashion Show where three Malaysian designers, Celest Thoi, Nurita Harith and Syomir Izwa Sen-Gupta presented their latest Spring/Summer 2017 collections. All we can say is, we want everything from all of their collections!

Celest Thoi‘s latest Spring/Summer 2017 collection called Newfangled which means new and often needlessly novel, features 12 ready-to-wear pieces for this fun whimsical collection where she collaborated with SARAKICHI, a fashion brand that produces modern garments using Tokyo’s traditional dying techniques.

Celest Thoi Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Newfangled-Pamper.my“It is our first time venturing out from the bridal scene. This Spring/Summer 2017 collection is all about thinking-out-of-the-box and playing with colours to make it vibrant and fun with a touch of whimsical as well as having the ‘girly’ feel which connects back to what the brand, Celest Thoi is known for,” said Celest Thoi.

Then, Nurita Harith revealed her Georgia Hamilton inspired Spring/Summer 2017 collection, filled with sultry and silky pieces created with Nurita’s signature draping aesthetics in a rich crimson colour palette of red wine maroon to burnt orange and dusty pinks.

After debuting his Raya Cruise 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection, Syomirizwa Gupta debuted his Spring/Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection which pays homage to Yoko Ono’s early years, as an ambitious artist, her relationship with John Lennon and a strong-willed female activist. We fell in love with the cross-cultural elements of the retro late 60s London, androgynous 70s suits and, bohemian jumpsuits, dresses and pussy bow blouses!
