It ain’t Monki if it ain’t quirky. For Autumn Winter 2018, the Scandi-chic brand decided to take Autumn fashion to a whole new level by taking your seasonal essentials such as the beret and the suit on a Monki spin.
Taking the best of classic elements and redoing it in a playfully whimsy manner, just how you would press play on a playlist of favourite tracks, Monki takes the old and remix it with fresh, modern accents.
“We take fashion seriously — and we love to have fun with it,” says Caroline Carlryd, Head of Design at Monki. “That’s the love-love relationship behind our AW18 press collection: A playfully curated mix of references and design ideas that makes us fall in love with Fall all over again. And that’s what the new autumn essentials are all about: seriously stylish pieces, seriously enjoyable fashion.”
Fronting the AW18 collection this time are modern Autumn must-haves: shearling coat and bomber, pinstripe and cord suiting, floral pussy-bow blouse and matching corduroy set. It’s not hard to point out where most of the influences come from: gold lamé turtlenecks paired with pinstripe and plaid tweed suits, top-to-toe florals, old-skool beret revamped in luxe faux shearling and a burgundy patent leather kick-flares to go with timeless orange knit; all courtesy of the ’70s disco era.
Monki Autumn Winter 2018 Collection will hit stores nationwide starting October 8th 2018.
