Spanish actress Penélope Cruz just snagged a new role and it’s MAJOR. Cruz, who attended Chanel’s Haute Couture Fall 2018/19 show at Le Grand Palais in Paris yesterday, has been named as the fashion house’s latest brand ambassador, joining the likes of other Chanel clique such as Kristen Stewart, Margot Robbie, Pharrell Williams, G-Dragon and more.
“It’s such an iconic brand and Karl is a genius, and I’ve been admiring everything he’s done since I was a little girl, so it’s such a pleasure working with him,” Cruz told WWD.
The 44-year-old Spanish enchantress will be the face of Chanel’s upcoming cruise campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
“He’s like the king of fashion and we had a really, really interesting photo shoot, so to be in front of his camera is an adventure.”
Wearing a pink tweed Chanel dress at the fashion show, Cruz completed her Parisian look with a white beret, hot pink mini handbag and nude pumps.
The actress, who has been a fan of the brand for years, has attended countless Chanel’s fashion shows for almost two decades. The star also recently introduced a fine jewelry “conscious” collection created in collaboration with Atelier Swarovski during Paris Couture Week, all lab-grown and set in 18-karat fair-trade gold.
