Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA) celebrated their 26th Anniversary yesterday at the Boulevard, Publika Shopping Gallery where the floor was clad in red carpet and stand-out pieces from 50 local designers were exhibited for the public.
There was a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) signing between AFAB and ASEAN-INDIA BUSINESS COUNCIL (AIBC) with aim to help Malaysian and ASEAN designers on manufacturing and raw material sourcing. The MoU also includes the formation of the Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers (CAFD) to lead as a single ASEAN trade bloc to compete with the rest of world in fashion and garment industry, and Ms Gillian Hung is appointed as the first president of CAFD.
In conjunction with the celebration, the 12 finalists from the Samsung Young Designer’s Award showcased their pieces accessorized with a Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and with makeup sponsored by shu uemura too! But the top 3 designers are not the only ones who will be receiving the prizes, their shu uemura makeup artist will be awarded as well.
