Mark Your Calendar Because Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2018 Schedule Is Out!

Back for its sixth year running, Malaysia’s biggest fashion event – Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2018 is ready to sweep fashion darlings off their feet! Soon to take place in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s Centre Court from 8th to 12th August 2018, a stable of designers will get to provide the audience with a first look into their never-before-seen collections.

This year, KLFW will be making significant steps towards sustainability and ethical fashion by supporting brands like Projek Jahat and SeanSheila as well as raise awareness about this issue with the #IGotStyle hashtag. Using the hashtag as a medium to spread the ideology of using something new, something old and something borrowed in one’s daily style, the movement strives to encourage the use of pre-loved or old items often overlooked by the public. KLFW will also be introducing elements of sustainability into some of the show segments during the fashion week.

Founder of KLFW, Mr. Andrew Tan had the chance to attend the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange at Buckingham Palace where he met the HRH Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and HRH Countess of Wessex, Sophie. The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange comes together to showcase the power and potential of artisan fashion skills to deliver new networks, trade links and highlight sustainability.

The AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search (AARRDS), a platform for budding designers to showcase their talents and help pave their way into the fashion industry, will be bringing its top five winners to the runway of KLFW 2018 where they will compete for a list of prizes from FashionValet, Infinence and Air Asia. In addition to that, Infinence, the latest fashion brand to be housed under The Sahajidah Hai-O Marketing Sdn. Bhd., will be awarding two of the top winners of AARRDS 2018 with a contract that allows them to design for the fashion house.

Bringing something fresh into the picture, KLFW recently launched its own online magazine titled “Edition KLFW” (www.editionklfw.com), which will give readers an insight into Malaysian designers and everything fashion. The online portal will also extend its topics across numerous spectrum including beauty, food, travel, lifestyle and more.
