What We Know So Far About JW Anderson’s Spring 2018 Collab With UNIQLO

His first collab with UNIQLO flew off the racks very quickly and he’s now back with another partnership with UNIQLO for Spring 2018. If last season JW Anderson chose to go whimsical while referencing British heritage with eye-catching rainbow-striped and classic tartan prints, this time he’s retelling the story of Britain’s Brighton Beach – the 1950s heydays of this popular summer attraction.

Speaking on the launch of the 2018 Spring/Summer line, Jonathan Anderson, the founder of JW ANDERSON said, “In the second collection of the collaboration, I’m looking for this idea of ‘British Summer,’ the idea of being on the Brighton beach. Something which is very lightweight, very airy, with a lot of linen, and cotton that has a 1950’s subcultural movement. With a little bit of ease and something which is quintessential.”

“As a UNIQLO customer, I know exactly the quality that the brand gives to its products. I am very proud of the level of execution and the attention to details that we delivered on this new Spring/Summer collection,” he added.

Basically, what we can tell from the recently shared lookbook images and video preview is the collection will be heavily steeped in seaside styling: sailor stripes, seersucker, waterproof parka (pocketable! Would you believe that?) and the very IN bucket hats. Course, there’s the old skool denim jacket and plenty of other denim separates for casual mixing and layering.

Expect soft colours with hints of sunburn, true blue, poppy red, white and beige, and sage green but also keep your eyes peeled for plaid bright yellow and blue – wonderful additions that draw inspiration from playful multistriping and picnic basket designs.
