Fred Perry x Thames ‘His & Hers’ Capsule Collection Are Too Kool For Skool

A tribute to the hum drum routines of British life and the uniforms that attire it, Blondey McCoy of skate brand Thames presented his take on Fred Perry tennis wear in new Fred Perry x Thames capsule for Spring Summer 2018.

Boasting 13-piece of ‘his and hers’, this collection signifies McCoy’s first attempt at womenswear and it’s certainly far from disappointing. McCoy took it to the street for influence and stealthily combine it with sportswear, giving Fred Perry’s hero pieces that vintage outlook millennials would go crazy for.

(Almost) fit for the court, the ladies’ picks such as the pleated tennis dress, tennis skirt and light blue visor to accessorize are a knock out of the park. Menswear features co-branded polo shirt with Thames logo merging with the iconic Laurel Wreath, a V-neck jumper that echoes of school uniforms, a knitted version of the tennis bomber and a striped knitted shirt in a palette of burgundy, navy and pale blue.

“I was bored of skating in T-shirts, so I started wearing Fred Perry shirts. I love the silhouette and how their clothes have been re-interpreted by so many different cultured and I always thought, ‘I’d love to see my logo on that.”

The campaign ‘Fifth Wheel’ sees McCoy as one of the faces, all decked out in the new collection while waiting patiently for the great British summer to start as he fifth wheel-ed a double date.
