FENDI Celebrates 10th Anniversary of The Peekaboo Bag With #MeAndMyPeekaboo Campaign

The Peekaboo, one of the most iconic bags ever produced in the fashion sphere, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and in honour of the meaningful milestone, FENDI launches a special video, #MeAndMyPeekaboo, and images starring FENDI’s Creative Director for Accessories, Menswear and Kidswear, Silvia Venturini Fendi, along with her daughters Delfina Delettrez Fendi and Leonetta Luciano Fendi.

The relationship that Silvia Venturini Fendi has with the Peekaboo bag is an emotional one. Silvia first imagined the Peekaboo back in 2008 when people were crazy about ‘IT bags’. The bag marked a turning point in the fashion landscape for the way it is constructed to reveal the inside, highlighting the immaculate artisanal work that went into the making of the icon. With the same emotional attachment, her daughters too shared the same close relationship with the Peekaboo.

Expressing the uniqueness of the Peekaboo, Leonetta Luciano Fendi said, “the Peekaboo bag is versatile, because it represents my different moods. It’s also full of surprises – because on one side you can put all the things people can see, while on the other side I usually put things people cannot see – and, obviously, timeless”, while Delfina Delettrez Fendi interprets it in her very own way “the Peekaboo is mysterious, precious like a piece of jewelry, and timeless, because it can be passed down through generations.”

Silvia Venturini Fendi was shot in Rome at FENDI Headquarters in Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana exceptionally with her team grasping the creative energy of the Studio, while Delfina and Leonetta were filmed in Palazzo FENDI and around Rome, all places dear to FENDI thus reinforcing the personal bond with the city.

The video highlights all the Peekaboo family members – from Large and Regular Peekaboo, Mini Peekaboo and Micro Peekaboo to Peekaboo Essential and Peekaboo Essentially – as well as the multiple facets and variants of this iconic bag. Since its creation for Spring/Summer 2009, Silvia Venturini Fendi has combined the Maison’s savoir-faire and limitless creativity with the research of high-quality materials and details, giving life to infinite versions of the Peekaboo that – each one with its standout and distinctive features – all flawlessly embody the versatile and timeless aspect of this bag that has been and will continue to be elevated, reinterpreted and declined season after season, collection after collection.

The first phase of the Campaign was launched digitally on April 24th on fendi.com. This represents a first step to a major celebratory project that will engage iconic women and their relationships with the Peekaboo bag from around the world.
