After volunteering and producing thousands of PPE for frontliners during the peak of the COVID19 pandemic, local designer Melinda Looi was inspired to create a line of protective wear to keep her family and friends safe and stylish at the same time. And this led to the born of MIKA, a line of self-sanitizing, reusable and water resistant Protective Travel Wear, created together with her entrepreneur husband, Dirk Luebbert for the coronavirus era.

MIKA, comes with clip-on Face Shield and waterproof Travel Pouch, is powered by HeiQ V-Block, an intelligent Swiss textile technology that gives its fabric the self-sanitising characteristics. The HeiQ V-Block technology is a patent-pending combination of advanced antimicrobial HeiQ Pure TAG silver technology and vesicle booster technology that effectively inhibit growth and persistence of microorganisms that used textile as a hosting surface. The antimicrobial technology is EU BPR and EU REACH compliant and registered with US TSCA. The active ingredient, silver chloride is registered with US EPA. The product is treated with a biocide to protect it from microbes and germs and effective for at least 30 washes at 140ºF/60ºC.
