Anya Hindmarch Fall 2017 Collection Unfolds A Winter Tale

Infused with contrasting textures and romanticised notion of winter, Anya Hindmarch Fall/Winter 2017 collection embraces Scandinavian coziness and dark patterns from Old Norse folklore through modern rendition of traditional leather craft techniques.

The latest collection is entitled “Vetr”, the Icelandic word for winter and true in its form, the show manifested itself into a winter wonderland with abstract mountains and theatrical lighting. With contrasting textiles and tones, the intricate lineup combines the former with leather and top it off with suede, nubuck and shearling to produce key carryalls such as the Bathurst Satchel and the new Stack Shoulder.

Outerwear gets a retro makeover with coats getting refreshed in pastel hues and finished with jewel-tone mink collars and stoles, creating a polished solution to cold days ahead. The intricate handiwork is also exemplified in the usage of leather kurbits (ornamentation from Swedish folk art) and hand-woven leatherwork details.

Holdall like the Vere Satchel take a fun-sized shape with a mini version in deep Claret burgundy crossbody style adorned with folklore paperchain straps also available in metallic orange and teal for an elegant evening look. The Bucket Bag, a newest addition to the season, makes for a simple go-to bag equipped with a practical large removable pocket on the inside. From shearling creepers with fluffy eyes, boxy everyday bags to woodland-esque animal purses, the whimsical collection sure sets our hearts racing for the new season.
