Want to become a fashion designer? You are at the right place.

This year AirAsia has expanded its 3rd edition of AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search (AARRDS) 2017 to all 10 Asean countries.

The design competition will run from April to June in search for the top two aspiring fashion designers to represent their country at the Grand Finale which will take place in Kuala Lumpur this August.

16715882_10155996749905620_4242974038498614037_oThe winner of this regional designer search will walk away with prizes worth at least RM350,000 including a confirmed slot in KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2018, RM25,000 sponsored by FashionValet to produce a capsule collection which will be sold on their official website, 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points as well as vouchers for AirAsia flights and more.

Among the panel of judges for the auditions are renowned fashion designers from each country such as Q Design and Play from Thailand, Anthony Ramirez from the Philippines and Mel Ahyar from Indonesia while Founder of KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear, Andrew Tan and Co-Founder of FashionValet, Vivy Yusof will be permanent judges across all auditions throughout Asean.

Besides that, our very own renowned fashion designer Alia Bastamam and Editor of FEMALE Malaysia magazine Yang Mei Ling will also be part of the judging panel for the Malaysian auditions. Meanwhile, Founder of KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear, Andrew Tan and Co-Founder of FashionValet, Vivy Yusof will be permanent judges across all auditions throughout Asean.

Photo-1To participate in the competition, simply submit three (3) sketches of women’s ready-to-wear inspired by Asean destinations and submit your entries along with your completed registration form, available here. This designer search is open to any individual of any nationality, age 30 years old or below and residing in any of the ten participating Asean countries.

AirAsia is also KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2017’s Preferred Travel Partner and will be flying in fashion designers from India, China, Australia, Japan and South Korea to be featured on the KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear runway from August 16 to 20.
