Coachella weekend one was a hit with big names like The Weeknd and Eminem headlining the stage but the real show-stealer hands down goes to Beyoncé. During her almost two hour set, Queen Bey managed to turn it into a Destiny’s Child reunion, performed alongside her husband Jay-Z and brought her sister Solange Knowles to the stage. It didn’t feel like a music festival anymore. It was a concert. HER concert.

“Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline,” Beyoncé said, before singing “Run the World (Girls).”

Opening her much-anticipated performance with her hit single “Crazy In Love”, the singer marched her way to the center stage to the beats of the New Orleans-style brass marching band before serenading the crowd with her own rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, also known as the black national anthem. The singer sang a number of songs from her latest album “Lemonade”, grooved to “Deja Vu” with her hubby Jay-Z then joined her sister Solange for a dance number.

The highlight, however, was when the singer performed Destiny’s Child greatest hits such as “Say My Name,” “Soldier” and “Lose My Breath” with group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. It’s gonna be hard to top Queen Bey’s explosive performance. I mean…she slayed the stage so hard people started calling the event “Beychella.” We’ve got no complaints, though.
