Have you ever been so obsessed with a TV shows that after finishing the last episode of the show and your world suddenly felt empty?

It’s not an easy process to recover after spending so much time engaged with a TV show that’s over. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to combat TV show withdrawal. Below, a guide to getting through your post series depression.

1. Vent online about it

Venting is a good way to release your emotions. Always remember that you’re not alone. There will be many people in the exact same position as you feeling sad once a TV show has concluded. Tweet about how much the series means to you. Let it all out on Tumblr, sharing the loss with other people will make it feel better.

2. Go through all the information on the relevant website

No, we’re not talking about re-watching the whole series. But you can go to any relevant site to read the news, watch the series’ outtakes, interviews, favourite scenes. It will help to comfort you, and you might be bored after that, which helps in curbing post series withdrawal.

3. Take a break from watching TV for at least three days

Once your favourite series ends, considering taking a break from TV before committing to a completely new show. Go outside and take a walk in nature, plan an outing with a friend you haven’t seen in forever, go to the grocery store to fill up your pantry, or you can just stay home and do house chores. Long story short, just go out from your desk and embrace reality.

4. Go find the other shows or movies that your favourite actors are in

In some cases our attachment to particular actors is so strong that we miss seeing them weekly. One way of coping with this is to find other shows that they are starring in. That way you can get your “actor by your side” without having to feel too sorry for your loss.

5. Look for new TV shows in the same genre

Your old one has ended but usually a new one will pop up to fill that gap, and it will likely be fresh, updated, and fascinating all in its own right. Watching a new, equivalently good TV series will soon have you involved in enjoying the weekly routine again.
