#PamperMyBeauty 2018 J-Beauty: Japanese Gyaru-Inspired Makeup Tutorial

We gave you a lot of J-Beauty tips earlier this week and now we have a makeup tutorial using all shu uemura makeup that let’s you tap in to your kawaii gyaru(cute girly) side! Let’s learn how to add some pastel colours to your usual makeup!

Here’s the breakdown on what products we used to get this kawaii look!

1Step 1

Stage Performer Block:Booster Fresh Pink

Prime your skin with a brightening primer such as the Stage Performer Block:Booster Fresh Pink. This protective moisture primer has SPF 50 PA+++ and blocks pollution.

2Step 2

Lightbulb Fluid Foundation

Then, with a brush, apply the Lightbulb Fluid Foundation. This new liquid foundation is tailor-made for asian skin and creates the most natural second-skin glow with no trace of artificial reflections or excess glossiness.

3Step 3

Lightbulb UV Compact Powder

Set your foundation with the Lightbulb UV Compact Powder SPF 30, PA+++ formulated with the lightbulb™ oleo-technology and the lightbulb™ pearl to give your skin a smooth, natural glow finish.

4Step 4

Stage Performer Eye:Prime

Now before the fun part, primer your eyelids with the Stage Performer Eye:Prime. This moisturizing primer creates a thin, smooth film to true payoff of eyeshadow color and makes drawing eyeliner easier.

5Step 5

With an eyeshadow brush, start with the Pressed Eye Shadow in Pink (M145A) on the inner portion of your eyelids, followed by the Purple (M139), Blue (M634), Orange (M250A), and lastly, on the outer edge, a Dark Pink (M165B). Blend them together with a clean blending brush to diminish the harsh lines.

6Step 6

Lasting Soft Gel Pencil Black

Closely line your eyes with the Lasting Soft Gel Pencil Black and do a slight flick at the end.

7Step 7

Now, shape your eyebrows with the Hard Formula Seal Brown 02 then, use the Brow:Comb to set your brows in place.

8Step 8

With the cult-favourite Eyelash Curler, curl your lashes before brushing some Petal Lash Mascara to give your lashes more volume and length.

9Step 9

Add some flush to the apples of your cheeks with the blush shade M375/BXM1882 and you can’t forget a touch of highlight P510/BXP2194 on top of your cheekbones.

10Step 10

Since your eyes are doing most of the talking, you can choose to keep your lips in a natural pink shade or add a bright pink using the Rouge Unlimited Lipstick PK365 to make the look pop more.

11Step 11

Add a touch of Laque Supreme Lip Gloss CR01 to the centre of your lips for more shine and dimension.

12Step 12

Set everything with the Stage Performer Fresh Topcoat Makeup Fix Mist so your kawaii look will last all day!

Lastly, big thanks to Olivia Loke for creating this colourful Japanese Gyaru-inspired makeup tutorial on our writer, Kye Lin!
