Aren’t we always on a hunt for great bargains regardless of what we’re buying – a great deal for travels, a great sale, a DIY alternative at home, etc? I know I’m always looking for a great buy that doesn’t have an impact of the quality or effectiveness of the product – and ladies there are apparently lots of products we can buy off the shelf that are great for us.

I’m talking about walking into Watsons or Guardian (which we often do) and having faith in these products which come with a more affordable price tag. I’m a drugstore junkie – as soon as I step into Watsons or Guardian, I know I’m in trouble. I just want to sample every product and find that hidden gem, so I was ecstatic when I found a few products that dermatologists recommend, and that’s easily purchased at our drugstores!

If you share the same enthusiasm, read on.

1. Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub

The older we get, the slower our cell turnover is which is the cause of a duller complexion. Use this Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub to get rid of dead skin and reveal the newer you. Because it’s a gentle formula, you can use this a couple of times a week. Perfect for those who use makeup daily and need something that can be used often.

2. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

For all that suffer from eczema, you probably already have this in your armoury. For everyone else, say hello to what could be your best new friend. I have friends who swear by this because rather than drying out your face after cleansing it, it still feels nice and moisturised. That’s because this is a gentle cleanser that does not strip your face of its natural oils. You could also give the other range of products a stab, you can’t go wrong with Cetaphil!

3. Eucerin Professional Repair Extra Dry

Great for those with dry, itchy skin (hand up), the best part about this is it’s non-greasy and doesn’t really have a scent to it – you know it’s good when it just does what it is meant to do without any added frills or gimmicks.

4. Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

I’m pleasantly surprised to see this on the list because I personally have been using Burt’s Bees and only Burt’s Bees for my go-to lip balm. It does wonders for dry lips and I love the rich texture it leaves when I first apply some.

Perfect for oily skin and those prone to break outs. The exfoliators also help to remove dead skin cells.
