Cream? Pressed? Or Loose Eyeshadow?

Here’s a little tip:

  • Cream eyeshadows work best as a base color for powder eye shadow, or for solid, single-color coverage.
  • Loose eyeshadows are often where you find the most color pigment, but can be messy and tricky to work with.
  • Pressed eyeshadows are the most common type of shadow, because they blend easily without being too messy.

Don’t forget to prime

Just as we preach that primer is important before applying foundation, the same applies for eyeshadow. Walk into any Sephora outlet and you’ll find various primers for eyeshadow – not only does it help keep your eyeshadow on for the whole day, but it also prevents it from creasing. Don’t skip this important step.
