Sephora Launches New Virtual Artist Feature Allows You To Virtually Try Lip Shades Before You Buy

Now you can try out a lip shade before buying it online thanks to Sephora which recently launched a new interactive feature, Virtual Artist, where the feature uses facial recognition to map out users’ lip location and shape, allowing them to try on hundreds of shades with the push of a button. Now you’ll be able to find your perfect lip shade in minutes.

Much like a mirror, you can practice your pout as you virtually play with the new lip shades. Alternatively, you could upload a photo of yourself too. Using Pantone Colour IQ, Sephora’s Virtual Artist helps you to find the perfect formula, finish and hue based on your skin-tone. The experience can be even further customised, because you can filter the products according to format, shade or brand. You can choose and toggle from an assortment of brands on sephora.my including, the in-house SEPHORA COLLECTION, BECCA, Kat Von D Beauty, Burberry, Too Faced, Marc Jacobs Beauty and ZOEVA, amongst others.

Sephora Malaysia Visual ArtistOnce a shade is selected, it appears on your lips, along with relevant product information such as product name, brand and price. Mirroring the in-store experience, the feature allows for side-by-side comparison of up to four different shades; you can email these comparisons to yourself for reference, along with product links that make the items easy to find for future purchase. For those looking to spice things up, there’s a “Surprise Me” feature, which presents four lip shades at random.

The Virtual Artist also let’s you buy the item instantly with just a click so you can get your hands on the latest beauty finds but you can also seek advice by sharing the images with family, friends or fellow makeup lovers.
