Love Beauty and Planet Partners with Watsons Malaysia for a Sustainability Campaign

Continuing their commitment to do good for the planet, Unilever’s eco-friendly beauty brand, Love Beauty and Planet has launched a sustainability campaign in partnership with Watsons Malaysia. The campaign, which is in conjunction with Earth Month in April aims to educate consumers about the impact of plastic waste and to encourage them to play their part in making the planet a better place.

According to a report analysis by World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), Malaysians are Asia’s largest consumer of plastic. Single-use plastic remains to be one of the biggest culprits that contributes to the problem especially if it is not disposed properly. The wrongful disposal of single-use plastic has caused our wildlife to be impacted – our beloved animals are harmed from accidental consumption of plastic and polluting our ocean waters and reefs.

“We, Love Beauty and Planet, want to take a more proactive role for a more sustainable future. We will be kicking off several initiatives with our trusted retail partner, Watsons, both online and in-store. We understand that it is not possible for both consumers and organisations to change habits overnight, but one small action can make a big change over time. With that, Love Beauty and Planet hopes to inspire the public to adopt simple and easy sustainable habits, or as we call it, ‘small acts of love’ that will make a difference to our planet,” said Rachel Sak, Brand Manager, Love Beauty and Planet, Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd.

“As the leading health and beauty retailer, Watsons Malaysia has pledged to reduce plastic waste as part of our long-term commitment towards sustainability. We are thrilled to be able to partner Love Beauty and Planet, who shares the same values as we do when it comes to our environment. We hope that through this campaign, we can make a difference for the planet by encouraging consumers to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle,” shared Caryn Loh, Managing Director, Watsons Malaysia.

As part of Love Beauty and Planet’s sustainability initiative, the brand has created an interactive mobile game that aims to educate the public about recycling.  The game offers Malaysians a chance to be an eco-warrior virtually, by earning points through collection of recyclable bottles that appears on screen, while avoiding our marine friends to save them from this plastic waste.

With every successful gameplay, consumers can earn an exclusive voucher that is valid to be used on any Love Beauty and Planet’s products on Watsons’s stores, website, or in-app purchases. To play the game, consumers can visit https://www.lovebeautyandplanet.my.
