Many of us are guilty of spending a ton of money on beauty products. Without even knowing it, women can spend thousands of ringgits a year on makeup products. FWe admit, the fancy packaging and celebrity beauty endorsements are alluring.

Yes, some products might be worth every dime, but others, not so much. You certainly don’t have to spend million bucks to look fabulous.

Here’s a list of things you can save on:

1. Makeup Remover

Springing for fancy makeup remover is essentially like watching your money go down the drain with the suds. As long as it does the job, you don’t have to splurge on makeup remover with fancy packaging.

2. Facial Cleanser

If you have normal skin with zero issues, you don’t need your wash to have special ingredients. The best facial cleanser is the ones that contain just 10 ingredients or fewer. Just go for the one that says “gentle” or “non comedogenic” you’re good to go.

3. Face Moisturizer

It’s perfectly understandable to splurge on serum, but it’s the total opposite when it comes to moisturizer. Its purpose is to seal moisture in- that’s it. You don’t need a fancy product to do that. The only thing you have to strongly consider when buying one is its SPF content.

4. Mascara

There’s no need to spend a crazy amount on mascara because there isn’t much difference between high-end and low-end formulas. Also, you should be changing your mascara tube for a new one every three months to reduce the risk of bacterial infections—which is all the more reason to cut corners.

5. Lip Gloss

There’s no need in spending big bucks just to get a hint of tint and shine. You can just grab one at a lower price.

6. Shampoo

There are many expensive shampoos out there in high-end stores. However the fact of the matter is that cheap shampoo works just as well as expensive shampoo. But if you’ve spent money on any hairdo, you should totally save your dough for hair treatments at the saloon or go with the hair products that your hairstylist suggests.

7. Conditioner

Whether you spend RM10 or RM100, most conditioners will get the job done. And it’s conditioner, the fancy-pants ingredients will be on your hair for five minutes, not long enough to be worth the expense.
