For many years, we have been told that beauty sleep is essential for repairing the skin. If you want your skin and hair to look younger and healthier during the day, then you need to have a good beauty sleep. Adults need between seven and eight hours of sleep per night. There are individual differences within this range, but most of the people generally need seven to eight hours. Apart from how we look and how we feel after a good night’s sleep, the beauty sleep may be more than it.

However, experts are disagreeing about the saying of beauty sleep. A study executed this year proved that there is a correlation between our appearance and sleep quality. Despite that, dermatologist Fayne Frey says we may be overestimating sleep’s impact on the health of our complexions.

“Although there may be physiological differences in the skin when an individual is lying down and inactive, when fluid shifts away from dependent areas like the legs due to gravity, an evening skin repair system has never been elucidated.” according to Frey. However, Frey’s claim does contradict the accept idea that skin cell turnover accelerates at night.

After all, every individual needs to have a good night’s sleep as it will affect our working ability, mood, and appetite on the next day. We all should get enough of sleep every night for a healthier self.
